Sheila Goss Duerr

Sheila Goss Duerr has been practicing law for over 30 years.  Her career began in Connecticut where she worked for a private litigation firm and for the Superior Court of Connecticut as an assistant clerk.  After leaving Connecticut and settling back in her home State of New York, Sheila worked as a litigation associate for several years, where she handled personal injury claims, breach of contract actions, Article 78 proceedings on behalf of the city of Glens Falls, as well as mattters before the Family Court, United States Bankruptcy Court and appeals to the Supreme Court, Appellate Division.

Sheila began work as a solo practitioner in 1995 and continued her focus in civil litigation, adding to her experience, a specialty in employment discrimination, including sexual harassment claims, which she litigated on both the state and federal level.  She founded SLATE Consulting Services, which provided sexual harassment policy and training for employees on behalf of their employers.  Her litigation experience led her to be corporate counsel for various corporations, where she provided representation in court involving civil and employment matters, real estate, contract claims, landlord tenant matter as well as general counsel and advice regarding a myriad of issues confronting small and medium-sized businesses.



Sheila continues to represent corporate clients in matters of zoning, real estate, landlord tenant matters and general litigation. She has expanded her practice to include real estate, general estate and probate matters as well as guardianship proceedings. She is the founder of Adirondack Mediation, which provides divorce mediation for couples seeking divorce.

Being a great lover of hiking, skiing, and all things "Adirondack", Sheila and her family began residing in Keene Valley in 2018 and currently live between there and Glens Falls.
