Molly S. Hann
Molly Shubert Hann has practiced law in the Adirondacks since 2013, and in Tupper Lake since 2017. Molly most frequently handles real estate transactions, estate planning, estate probate and administration, small business formation, and advising not-for-profits. She also has experience in criminal defense, Worker’s Compensation matters and in litigated matters.
Prior to entering private practice, Molly worked as an assistant and deputy public defender for Essex County, representing clients at misdemeanor and felony trials, and negotiating outcomes and favorable sentences.
Molly grew up in Lake Placid and lives in Saranac Lake. She graduated from St. Lawrence University, majoring in both Environmental Studies and Government, with a European Studies minor. She was also an Augsbury North Country Scholar, and studied for a semester in the Denmark International Study Program in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Molly graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School in 2012, where her achievements included being named a Dean's Scholar and Merit Scholar. During law school, she interned with the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, the Adirondack Park Agency, and the Essex County Public Defender’s Office. She was a research associate in the Vermont Law School Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic.
Molly was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2013.
Molly also worked as a legal assistant to Amy L. Smith, Attorney at Law, prior to attending law school, and has many years of experience in the hospitality industry in Lake Placid, including as tour boat captain and guide, and alpine ski instructor.
Molly lives in Saranac Lake with her husband, Stephen Hann, a nursing supervisor at Adirondack Health, and their two children, two dogs, and a flock of chickens. Molly enjoys most outdoor pursuits in the Adirondacks including camping, skiing, sailing, mountain biking, paddling, and running. Molly has previously served on the boards for Bark Eater Trails Alliance, the Lake Placid Shore Owners’ Association, Play ADK, and the St. Lawrence University Alumni Executive Council, as well as coaching and organizing youth soccer in Saranac Lake. Molly also previously served as a member of the Village of Saranac Lake Planning Board.
