Business Manager

Flink Maswick Law PLLC, a law firm with offices in Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and Albany, seeks candidates for a full-time Business Manager in Lake Placid. This  position will have a focus on the financial accounts of the business and will be asked to work on other matters regularly such as human resources, administrative duties, and some legal work. It is critically important for the right candidate to maintain confidentiality of firm matters. The candidate must be a team player that can take instruction and direction and be able to work independently with oversight.


Responsibilities include all aspects of handling accounting for banking transactions

and bookkeeping, including but not limited to:

 -  Reconciling QuickBooks accounts,

 - preparing financial reports,

 - vendor payments,

 - billing and collection matters,

 - running payroll

 - assisting with employee benefits including 401k and insurances,

 - communicating with clients, attorneys, banks, and other professionals,

 - processing/scanning mail and checks,

 - identifying legal documents,

 - organizing and scheduling appointments and meetings,

 - assisting with computer and IT needs,

 - and other general office tasks as they arise.


This is a full-time salary position with hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break daily, Monday-Friday. Salary range is $55,000 - $80,000 and is heavily dependent upon experience. The position includes paid parking and a competitive benefits package.


While some QuickBooks and accounting experience is preferred, we would be happy to train the right candidate and provide ongoing support while you learn. Associate Attorneys

Fast-paced, technologically savvy, high-volume general law practice in Lake Placid, NY seeks an associate attorney who is compassionate, highly motivated, and interested in practicing law in the Adirondacks. While living in the Adirondacks is a lifestyle preference, the right candidate will be given the opportunity for professional growth and reaching their full potential by working closely with the partners in the firm in a variety of areas, including personal injury, litigation, insurance defense, matrimonial and family court, criminal matters, estate matters, and real estate. The right candidate will have the freedom to explore their personal areas of interest while supporting experienced attorneys at the same time. 


Responsibilities will include handling pleadings, discovery, medical record analysis, legal research, court appearances, conducting hearings and depositions, and working directly with clients and other attorneys. Ultimately, the firm is seeking a recent law graduate who has been admitted to the NYS Bar through five years of experience with distinguished academic credentials, excellent communication, writing, and research skills, who, with appropriate training, experience, and hard work will be committed to the firm, its clients and the community.
